When Your Space Is Part of Your Brand
Brandy is an Orlando interior designer and decorator who does something most designers only dream about. She does not just transform her clients' spaces. She transformed her own home into a living portfolio of her work.
So when it came time to invest in personal branding photography, the answer was obvious. We were not going to shoot in a generic studio with a plain backdrop. We were going to shoot in her world, surrounded by the spaces she created, because that is exactly what her brand is about.
We planned a full on location branding session across two properties, her own beautifully designed home and one of her client's homes. Two locations, two completely different looks and vibes, one session. That is the kind of content library that takes most business owners multiple shoots to build and we knocked it out in one day.
Two Locations, Two Outfits, One Session
We started at Brandy's own home, shooting in her living room and kitchen in a sleek all black outfit that felt polished, confident, and completely on brand for the elevated aesthetic she brings to her work. Every detail in the background, the finishes, the lighting, the styling, told a story about who she is and what she creates for her clients.
Every shot was lit with professional off camera flash photography to give us that clean, editorial look that separates professional branding images from anything you could capture with a phone or a natural light setup. Even shooting on location in someone's home, we bring studio quality lighting with us so the final images always look intentional and polished.
Midway through the session Brandy changed into a crisp white outfit with bold pink heels, which completely shifted the energy. Same person, different dimension of her personality. We then moved to her client's home for the second half of the session, a stunning modern kitchen with dark cabinetry, gold accents, and marble countertops that looked like it belonged in an interior design magazine.
The result was a full content library with two distinct looks shot across two beautifully designed spaces. Everything she needs for her website, her Instagram, her Houzz profile, her email marketing, and any press or publication features she lands down the road.
What Made This Session Work
A session like this does not just happen. It takes planning and the right photographer who can adapt to different environments, different lighting conditions, and different spaces without missing a beat.
Before we ever picked up a camera, Brandy and I had a full pre shoot consultation where we mapped out both locations, talked through her outfit choices, and planned the vibe and feel she wanted for each space. She came in knowing exactly what to expect, which is why she felt relaxed and confident from the first frame.
That is something I hear from almost every client who walks into a session feeling nervous. By the time we wrap, they cannot believe how natural it felt. Brandy was no different. She moved through both locations with ease, and the images show it.
We also had styling direction available throughout the session to make sure every look, every pose, and every frame was intentional. No awkward stiff poses, no guessing what to do with your hands. Just guided, natural, expressive images that actually look like you on your best day.
For business owners in creative industries like interior design, photography, event planning, or fashion, your personal brand images need to match the quality of the work you do. If your photos look average, people assume your work is average. Brandy's photos look anything but.
